Local Transport

Sopot is served by three independent local transport companies:
  • ZTM Gdańsk (buses - painted red / creamy),
  • ZTM Gdynia (buses and trolleybuses - painted blue / white)
  • SKM (Fast Urban Train - painted yellow / blue).

For buses and trolleybuses You can buy tickets at numerous kiosks situated anywhere in the city, the ticket vending machines, and directly from the driver (in vehicles of ZKM Gdynia only in carnets of 5 tickets). Please note, that the ticket should be validated in a punching machine inside the vehicle. Tickets of the both companies are different, but they are mutually accepted within the Sopot.

Traveling by SKM is the most convenient way to move between Tri-city cities: Gdańsk, Sopot and Gdynia, and also to reach the Gdańsk airport. You can buy tickets at the box offices situated at the stations, or at the ticket vending machines. Please note, that the ticket bought at the box office should be validated in a punching machine before you enter the train. If the box office is closed and there is no working vending machine at the station, you can buy a ticket from the train service at the front of the train.

The tickets of SKM and PKP (Polish National Railways) are not interchangeable, fortunately it is difficult to make a mistake because these companies use different platforms.
